Kyndi seedships arrived carrying Kyndi DNA over 45 000 years ago. These automated seedships determined the planet to be biocompatible, and proceeded to recreate the Kyndi humanoids within the planet's ecosystem. Armed with the knowledge of their original society, the Kyndi quickly assumed a dominant position on the planet, creating the Igri thgough genetic manipulation of Kyndi and Niji genes. But even while these other races grew, the Kyndi's domineering and transformative instincts quickly led to war amongst themselves. Their numbers were decimated, their surroundings spoiled. Were it not for the intervention of the resourceful and powerful native Dracozids, much of the continent might have been lost to disease and death.

Today's Kyndi are the few remaining ancestors of these originals. Passive and watchful, they bear little resemblance to their forbearers - learning to make use of the technology that accompanied them but forego its use when balance is called for. These Kyndi carry with them the oral history of their deadly past, and have learned to integrate more closley with the species of their adoptive home. They watch in fear as the Igri begin to discover and make use of the technological remnants of their civilzation, like parents watch children playing with fire.
